On Monday, 15 June, three CSKI Korfball teams travelled to the Netball Centre at Ngā Puna Wai for the Term 2 Mixx Korfball Tournament.
CSKI 3 competed in B Grade and had an outstanding day, losing only one game throughout the entire tournament. After finishing 3rd in their pool with two draws, one win and one loss, they continued to battle strongly through the final round. They finished the day with a convincing win over Heaton, securing 5th place overall in B Grade.
CSKI 2 faced a challenging draw at the beginning of the day but showed incredible resilience and teamwork. They remained unbeaten after their first four games before narrowly losing to Horomaka Hillmorton. They then faced an all-CSKI battle against CSKI 1, where they were defeated in a hard-fought match. CSKI 2 finished the tournament in 4th place overall in A Grade.
CSKI 1 started the tournament with a hard-fought victory over Horomaka Hillmorton and continued to build momentum throughout the day. They dominated their grade, showing excellent teamwork, skill, and determination. In their fourth game against Breens, CSKI 1 found themselves behind 4–2 before making an impressive comeback to win 7–4.
After topping their grade, CSKI 1 faced Horomaka Hillmorton again in the final. In another exciting contest, they secured a 5–3 victory to become A Grade tournament champions.
Congratulations to Noah Bradley and Mia Bullion, who were both named Tournament MVPs for their outstanding performances throughout the day.
A huge thank you goes to Michelia and Jess for their supervision and management of CSKI 3, and to Robyn and Grace for their supervision and coaching of CSKI 1. Your time, commitment, and support make these opportunities possible for our students.

Overall, it was another fantastic day for CSKI Korfball. All three teams represented our school with pride, resilience, and great sportsmanship. Ka mau te wehi, CSKI!
