It is a wildly busy and exciting time for the Performing Arts department at our school! From the stage to the dance floor, our students have been hard at work. Here is your latest update on everything happening this term.
🦁 Madagascar Junior: The School Musical
A massive congratulations to all the students who auditioned and were successful in getting into our school musical, Madagascar Junior!
We were blown away by the vast array of talent we saw, which made casting the show a very difficult task. We are thrilled to announce we have a phenomenal cast of 75 students ready to bring this story to life. A special shoutout goes to Asher, Miley, Layli, Indigo, and Harrison, who landed key roles in the production!

🎶 Kahukura Music Festival: Choir & Jazz Band
The CSKI Choir and Jazz Band have been working incredibly hard to prepare for our school’s special performance at the Kahukura Music Festival at the end of Term 2.

Performance Dates: Wednesday, July 1 and Thursday, July 2, 2026

Venue: McCombs Performing Arts Centre at Cashmere High School
Expectations: We expect that all students in these groups will attend both performance nights. Further details regarding dress rehearsals and specific requirements for the evening will be sent out soon.
Ticket Information
This year, we are using an online ticketing platform. Tickets are strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cost: $15.00 each (plus an additional transaction fee)

Limit: Maximum of 6 tickets per transaction

Details: All ages require a ticket. Wheelchair-accessible tickets are available for each evening.
Important Note: Students who are performing do not need to purchase a ticket.
💃 Dance is Everywhere!
Dance is currently happening all around the school, and the energy is fantastic!

Hip Hop: A huge welcome to our new Hip Hop teacher, Caleb, who is already working his magic with a dedicated group of students on Tuesdays.

Jump Jam: Miss Kumar is also incredibly busy trialling students for the upcoming Jump Jam team. We can’t wait to see what they put together!
