Speech Finalists

South’s Speech Competition


This year’s speech competition theme was ‘If I Ruled the World’. Each Pod held its own competition to find a Year 7 and a Year 8 finalists. We held the final during assembly time in the hall. The Year 7 finalists were Hannah from Hillary with an informative speech about vaping and smoking, Maeve from Rutherford with a speech about sharks and Eden from Sheppard with a speech on why we should exterminate brothers! Taila from Ngata was the Year 7 winner with his speech about why he could not rule the world.

The Year 8 competition involved Stephanie from Hillary with a speech about war, Ziva from Rutherford about Artificial Intelligence and Charlotte from Sheppard with a speech about Equal Pay. Es from Ngata won the Year 8 competition with their speech about LGBT+ discrimination. Congratulations to the winners and finalists!
