What an incredible journey we embarked on here at CSKI with our 2024 Major Production, Shrek the Musical Jr.!
Back in Term 2 of 2024, Miss Hickman and I stumbled upon the script and knew instantly – this was the one! The following term was a whirlwind of planning, preparation, and collaboration, with countless staff members dedicating their time to designing stunning sets, crafting imaginative costumes, and orchestrating the audition process.
We were overwhelmed by the incredible talent showcased at the auditions, and the energy in the rehearsal room was infectious. Witnessing the students transform into their characters under the guidance of our talented directors was truly rewarding.
The culmination of our efforts unfolded over three spectacular nights in Week 7 of Term 4, with near-capacity audiences cheering on our performers. The energy was electric, and the students thrived on the support.
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff who poured their hearts and souls into this production. And to the whānau, your unwavering support, allowing your children to dedicate countless hours after school and even on Sundays, is deeply appreciated.
Finally, a huge ngā mihi to every single student involved – actors, makeup artists, set builders, lighting technicians, backstage crew, front-of-house volunteers, filmmakers, and even the program designers. Your dedication and talent made this show a resounding success.
