What a night! Last Saturday was an absolute blast as our four incredible bands — The Nothing, The Tinkerbell’s, The Aura Farmer’s, and Strolling Stones — took to the stage at the James Hay Theatre for the annual Bandquest competition. The air was buzzing with energy, and the competition was fierce, but our students brought their A-game and absolutely rocked it.

The talent on display was phenomenal, with our bands battling it out against some amazing musicians from other schools. The supportive crowd was electric, cheering on every note and beat. Each of our bands delivered a high-octane performance that left the audience wanting more.

A huge shout-out is in order for three of our very own who earned some seriously impressive individual awards. Raphael was recognized as a rockstar drummer, proving that he’s got rhythm to spare. Dacy Oldham was named the rockstar keyboard player, showing off some serious skills on the keys. And last but not least, Arthur Douglas shredded his way to the top as a rockstar guitarist. These three truly stood out and made our school proud!

None of this would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of Matt Stevenson. A massive thank you to him for his tireless effort in mentoring our school bands and helping them fine-tune their sound. His guidance was invaluable and truly showed on stage.

The night was a huge success, filled with incredible music, tough competition, and a fantastic sense of community. We are already looking forward to next year’s competition and can’t wait to see what our bands will bring to the stage in 2026!
