What a fantastic night for our school and our community! On September 11, Te Iringa o Kahukura (Cashmere High School) hosted Pō Whakangahau, a wonderful showcase of Kapa Haka talent from schools across our region.
We were incredibly proud to have a small but mighty group from our own Kapa Haka group, Te Rōpū Harikoa, perform. They were absolutely amazing and represented our school with mana and pride. Their performance was a true testament to their hard work and dedication.
The group was flexible and quick-thinking, adjusting their set list to avoid repeating performances done by other schools. They skillfully navigated these changes, showcasing a wonderful medley of the waiata ‘Tihei Mauri Ora’ and ‘Tūtira Mai Ngā Iwi’. The crowd was also captivated by their rendition of Te Taukea, a beautiful poi performance of Rona, and our powerful school haka.
Congratulations to every member of Te Rōpū Harikoa for their outstanding performance. You did an incredible job and made our kura very proud. A special thank you to everyone who supported our students, from the teachers to the whānau who came to watch.
