Cashmere High hosted its first ever Pō Whakangahau for contributing schools in the Kahukura area. 70 members of Te Rōpū Harikoa (Kapa Haka group) attended the event. This is our first time performing our Tūhono set which is next term and as a team, we are blown away by the talent we have this year. From the noise to the attitude and the energy presented by everyone, the audience was in absolute awe of our performance. This was also an awesome opportunity to present and show off our new Korowai which was designed by Bobbie Hira.
At the end of the event, some members of Te Rōpū Harikoa stayed to watch Cashmere High’s Kapa Haka group which has inspired those going to Cashmere next year.
Huge thank you to Matua Josh and the Cashmere High Māori Department for hosting this event. Huge thank you for the koha! Looking forward to doing it again next year.
