Pasifika Group Update

Talofa lava, bula vinaka, malo e lelei, kia orana,

We have been working with our new tutors on a variety of musical pieces, each in a different Pacific language, that we will present in a shared festival of cultures in Term 4. Each school who works alongside our tutors at Tagata Mai Saute will come together to present a vibrant display of dance, music, drumming and culture.

Please save the date for the Sau Ia Festival: Wednesday evening, 13 November 2024, venue TBC.

We want to congratulate two of our students who have been selected as soloists, Melina P (H1) and Sheina R (R3).

We appreciate those students who show our CSKI value of Commitment by attending practice each week and arrive on time. Due to the timetable, we begin our warm up at 8:30 am sharp, so students should be onsite and to the Hall by 8:20 to get organised and sign in. Thank you for your flexibility in having your learner to school early on a Thursday morning.

We have also created a Hāpara Workspace for students to access the songs, lyrics and video recordings for additional practice at home. We also encourage our students to bring and wear an ie lavalava, or other ‘sarong style’ garment to our practices in order to be culturally responsive and respectful.
