Ngata News: River Adventures at The Groynes!

Ngata 1 and Ngata 4 recently embarked on an exciting River Crossing adventure at The Groynes! The day was filled with learning, teamwork, and a healthy dose of fun. It was a scorching hot day, which made the cool dip in the river a welcomed treat.

Students began by learning crucial river safety skills, including how to assess water conditions for safe crossing. They then put their collaborative skills to the test, working in teams to construct their own rafts. The enthusiasm was palpable as they tested their creations, riding them down the river with smiles and cheers.

The students showed great enthusiasm and a willingness to learn during our River Crossing adventure. A highlight for most students was the ride down the river with their packs. They enjoyed the float and managed to keep most of their belongings dry!

The Groynes trip was a fantastic opportunity for students to learn about river safety, develop their teamwork, and build confidence. Mr. Brown and Miss Birtch were delighted to see the students embrace the challenges and support each other. It was a day of valuable learning and shared accomplishment.

Many thanks to the whānau volunteers and Teacher Aides who supported this trip!
