In week 5 of term 3, 49 music students journeyed to Cracroft Guiding Centre for a two day music camp. The musicians included members of the Orchestra and Training Orchestra, including percussion, bass, cello, violin, trombone, trumpet, cornet, flute, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon and oboe. They spent the two days rehearsing as a large group, participating in sectionals run by the itinerant teachers, learning about the other instruments, competing in a band quiz, watching a music themed movie, eating lots of delicious camp food and even sleeping a little. The camp culminated with a concert for proud whānau who were blown away (ba dom bom, chi) by the progress made in two days. Thanks to everyone who helped make the camp happen.
