Day 1 of CSKI started with an amazing highlight: our mihi whakatau welcoming new staff and students to our kura. Every year, our Year 8s demonstrate one of our vision statements of “Embracing Challenge” by being ready and willing to show leadership through their support of our mihi whakatau.
When the Year 7s came in, the room was electrified by our Year 8s leading Toia Mai and our school haka. Our Year 7s had many emotions already on day 1 and coming into this would have stirred a lot more. It was great to see our new young adolescents embrace the challenge and be inspired by our Year 8 cohort for 2025.
This year we were visited by staff and students from Te Huruhuru Ao o Horomaka (Hornby High) to transition our new Deputy Principal, Sarah Handley. It was such an honour to be host to our manuhiri (guest). It was a very heartfelt display of love for Sarah from previous students and staff. Along with Sarah we welcomed Graeme Eastwood (Deputy Principal), Michael Sharp (Performing Arts Teacher), Lucy Hall (Rutherford Homeroom Teacher), and Tonya Low (Sheppard Homeroom Teacher). We look forward to everything you bring to CSKI.
Here is to an amazing 2025!
