Learning Celebration – Term 1

On Thursday, 2nd April, each Pod had their Term 1, Celebration of Learning.  Students took the opportunity to invite their parents into the classroom to share the learning they had completed over the first term. One of the main themes around the school was Identity, allowing students to show something about themselves. In Hillary, students brought in a taonga, an artefact, something special to them, their family, or their family history. There was also a lot of reflection and learning from Year 8, camp experiences, and the Year 7’s EOTC days.

It was so great seeing mums, dads, and grandparents coming into the classes, and students sharing everything they had achieved over Term 1.

I loved walking around each classroom, seeing different pieces of outstanding work. I hope each family member who was able to come to this wonderful event enjoyed the morning. I know that the students all enjoyed sharing the learning with them.
