We had two teams competing in the Koru Games. The girls team made superb progress throughout the tournament and achieved some outstanding rallies in many tight games. They won three of their six Pool Games and came so very close in their semi-final games – winning one of three sets in each of their games. Outstanding effort was evident in every game.
The boys team ended up being a mixed team with girls filling in for each of their games. They won one of their Pool games. but these results didn’t reflect how close the score lines in every game were. Again, I was impressed with their perseverance and effort and I am so very proud of their progress throughout the tournament. Junior was an outstanding coach on the sideline and his team appreciated his superb advice.
Considering for many of these students it was their first time playing, they performed well, had fun and hopefully gained a passion for this great game.
