Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate School’s football teams had an outstanding performance at the recent Koru Games. Both the boys and girls teams showcased their skills and determination, bringing home impressive results.
The girls’ team, in particular, had a thrilling run. After a hard-fought semifinal against a Mt Aspiring, the match was ultimately decided by a penalty shootout. The girls emerged victorious in the shootout, securing their place in the final.
The final was a closely contested match against Heaton Intermediate School, with both teams battling it out for the championship. Unfortunately, a late goal in the final minutes sealed the victory for their opponents, leaving the CSKI girls with a well-deserved second place finish.
The boys’ team also performed admirably, placing fourth out of 32 teams. Their strong teamwork and dedication were evident throughout the tournament, and they should be commended for their impressive achievement.
