We had an incredible last Kapa Haka session where we invited whānau to celebrate with us. Our students showcased their amazing Tūhono performance, which left everyone in awe. Matua Steve also took the time to teach everyone a beautiful waiata-a-ringa. It was a special experience for all. In addition, our students took charge and ran mini workshops on rākau and poi. It was heartwarming to see them step into the role of teachers and share their knowledge with whānau members. We are so proud of their confidence and leadership skills.
We want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible opportunity our students had to teach their whānau members poi and rākau. This hands-on experience not only deepened their understanding of these cultural practices but also fostered a sense of pride and connection within our school community. We are grateful for the support and involvement of our families in making this event a success.
