Hillary 8’s Somerfield Visit

On Thursday 20th June, Hillary 8 students battled the rain to walk down to Somerfield Primary to teach the New Entrants about Matariki through games, craft activities and P.E. It was great to see positive relationships come from this experience and great to see tuakana-teina being shown in a different environment. A lot of the feedback we got from the Hillary 8 was that they had fun and enjoyed the experience. It was also great to hear some students even appreciate the hard work that teachers put into school.

A huge thank you to the Somerfield Juniors for allowing us to come and teach your children about Matariki. We also appreciated the little waiata you did for us at the end.
