It all started on the 4th of August when both our teams competed at Russley School in their heat. The “CSKI Mello Puffs” finished 1st and the “CSKI Loose Screws” a close 2nd which qualified them both for the Canterbury region semi finals.
They found the semi final, held at Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate on the 19th of August, a bit tougher and enjoyed a great contest for the lead with a team from Hillmorton High School. The Hillmorton High School team won on the night with the “CSKI Loose Screws” taking 2nd and the “CSKI Mello Puffs” claiming 3rd spot.
So it was off to the grand final on the 20th of August. Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate again hosted the final where teams had to compete for 2 hours. They had to select one of four challenges and could move onto a second once the first was complete. Both our teams were in the hunt throughout the evening, making smart decisions and being highly co-operative. The thinking and teamwork on display was incredible. At the final buzzer and after the last points were totalled, the “CSKI Loose Screws” came out victorious with the “CSKI Mello Puffs” close behind in 2nd equal place.
Congratulations to both teams:
CSKI Loose Screws – Max, George, Jono, Joshua
CSKI Mello Puffs – William, Spencer, Nethula, Marco
A huge thank you to Pete Laing for his support for the school EPro8 competition and for his work supporting and preparing these teams for the competition.
