The CSKI Jazz Band entered the Junior Jazz Jam at the Christchurch Big Band Festival well prepared with three awesome charts to play. They wowed the crowd with their rendition of Peter Gunn, Tequilla and Uptown Funk. With improvised solos, the crowd singing along and a special mention by the judge of the tight rhythm section it was a great afternoon. Our members also joined in with the jam at the end of the session – playing with 60 other jazz musicians from around Christchurch. Special thanks to the Big Band Festival Team for organising and Matua Clay for preparing us so thoroughly.
