A huge congratulations to one of our talented students, Olivia (R4), who represented New Zealand on the world stage during the Term 3 school holidays!
Olivia earned a fully paid trip to the Global Finals of the Chinese Bridge show for primary students by first winning the South Island Chinese Bridge Competition. At the South Island event, she impressed the judges with a fantastic performance, which included a prepared speech and song delivered in Chinese (Mandarin).
The Global Finals were held in Tianjin, China, and saw Olivia compete against 76 children from around the world, including two others from New Zealand.
We are incredibly proud to announce that Olivia made it into the final round! In a remarkable achievement, she secured the continental spot for Oceania (covering Australasia and the Pacific) by beating two Australian competitors and finished an outstanding 7th place overall in the global competition!
As a well-deserved prize for her success, Olivia will be returning to China next year to attend a summer camp.
