Congratulations to our outstanding Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate cross country team who represented our school with determination, resilience, and pride at the CAIMS Cross Country Championships on Thursday, 4 June 2026.
Our students competed against some of the strongest runners from intermediate schools across the Canterbury region and produced some exceptional results.
A special congratulations to our place getters:
- 🥇 Isla Smylie – 1st Place, Year 8 Girls (11:40)
- 🥈 Sophia Stechmann – 2nd Place, Year 8 Girls (12:05)
- 🥈 Hunter Ballance – 2nd Place, Year 7 Boys (11:32)
- 🥉 Jono Reid – 3rd Place, Year 8 Boys (11:25)
Having two students finish first and second in the Year 8 Girls race was an outstanding achievement and reflects the commitment and hard work these athletes have shown throughout the season.
Every member of our cross country team demonstrated perseverance, sportsmanship, and determination as they tackled a challenging course against tough competition. Their efforts are a credit to themselves, their whānau, and our school.
A huge thank you goes to our staff, coaches, volunteers, and supportive families who helped prepare and encourage our runners throughout the season and on race day.
