On August 8th, nine super special, talented, amazing, pretty, awesome, smart, brave, bright, cheerful, authentic, artistic, accomplished, charming, creative, witty, gorgeous, energetic, and cool students went out to the ‘Books Alive Festival.’ Steve Ladbrook accompanied them.
The Books Alive Festival is an annual event open to all ages. In this event, many authors had time to talk about their journey as authors, and a bit about their books. After this, questions were opened to the authors. Then, there was a book signing, and a time to purchase books. The authors, Juliette Maclver, Kiri Lightfoot, and Rachel King, all had many valuable, interesting tips and stories to share.
Two students, Harley Wood and Sophie Singh (stage name Jaquavis Thompson) were recognised by the MC. Harley for using her knowledge to ask unusual questions and think outside of the box. Sophie, for her beginning stage performance, doing a quick dance.
Overall, it was an outstanding experience, and everyone who got to indulge in it felt overwhelming joy to be a part of it.
