A big congratulations to our three boys’ football teams, who have just wrapped up a fantastic season of competition in the weekly CAIMs Winter Sport tournament. It has been a pleasure to watch the boys develop their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the term. All our players can hold their heads high after representing our school with pride and passion.

Boys’ A Team – Third in the Top Division!

Our Boys’ A team had a stellar season, competing in the highly competitive Open Championship. The boys played with immense heart and skill, securing a well-deserved third place. Their journey to the finals was cut short in a hotly contested semi-final against the eventual champions, Chisnallwood Intermediate. It was a nail-biting match that could have gone either way, and the team should be incredibly proud of their performance against the best in the competition. Ka pai, boys!

Boys’ B Team – So Close to the Title!

The Boys’ B team had an outstanding run in the Wood Grade, making it to the final. They finished in an impressive second place after a dramatic final against Heaton Intermediate. Our boys showed incredible dominance in the first half, leading 2-0 at the break. While the final result wasn’t what they had hoped for, their performance throughout the season was exceptional, and they should be commended for their brilliant teamwork and fighting spirit right to the final whistle.

Boys’ C Team – A Season of Growth

Our Boys’ C team also competed in the Wood Grade and showed tremendous improvement and dedication throughout the season. The boys finished in 8th place, a result that reflects their hard work and positive attitude every week. They faced some tough opposition but never gave up, representing our school with fantastic sportsmanship. Well done to all the players for their commitment and for giving it their all.

A huge thank you to all the parents and whānau who supported our teams from the sidelines, and to the coaches for their time and dedication. We are incredibly proud of all our players and look forward to another exciting football season next year!
