On Saturday 19th August, 34 members of our Pasifika group performed in front of a fully packed crowd at the Aurora Centre as part of the Sau Ia Festival. The festival is organised by our wonderful tutors at Tagata Mai Saute.

As the only intermediate school that performed, we took to the HUGE stage on our own compared to the other schools that performed as part of cluster groups which saw them fill the stage. All of our students performed beautifully with the audience cheering us on.

“It was exciting but I was quite shy because there were so many people watching!” Alice

“It was very fun and I enjoyed performing” Jayden

“I will definitely do it again at high school” Felix

“I enjoyed the experience and I had a lot of fun” Archie

We are incredibly proud of the commitment everyone has shown to practices and to those who embraced the challenge of performing at such a large venue.

Fa’afetai lava to all who supported us in some way – the whānau who came to watch and provided transport, Mr Williams, Mr Barr, Mrs Te Rangi-Henare and Ms Birtch who gave up part of their weekend to attend and especially to our tutors!
