Orientation Morning

Following the disruption from Covid over the last couple of years, we were delighted to re-commence our annual orientation morning today, hosting 250 new students who have enrolled at Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate for 2023,.

The purpose of the morning was to give our incoming Year 7s (and a few Year 8s) a ‘taste of life @ CSKI,’ create excitement about next year, and help alleviate transition anxiety.  Students were given the opportunity to hear from our head students and the principal, participate in a variety of activities – including those in the learning spaces that make up ‘specialisation’ – and make some new friends.  On offer were: ultimate frisbee, pixel art animation, cinnamon rolls, watercolour painting and exploring the school library.  There was even an opportunity to visit the canteen at morning tea!

It was fantastic to see our current South students exhibiting the South Way in their warm welcome of our new cohort, and their willingness to support the activities on offer.  We are so proud of how they showcased the positive culture of our school.  Unsurprisingly, the newly enrolled students headed away at midday buzzing!  We can’t wait to see them again in February, ready for 2023.
