CSKI Jazz Band and Pasifika Group performed in the recent Kahukura Performing Arts Celebration. This event was held outdoors at Te Ara Koropiko West Spreydon School and included performances from seven schools from the Kahukura Cluster. Many friends and whānau enjoyed the lively atmosphere and a picnic while they watched the array of different acts. Our Jazz Band played two groovy numbers, including improvised solos, and the Pasifika group looked and sounded stunning in their bright uniforms with their rhythmic and tuneful sounds. A small select group of our students also sang and accompanied the final two massed songs. The audience was so wowed by their music that they mostly forgot to join in! It was an excellent evening showcasing the arts and culture in our schools.
