During week 1 of Term 4, the Huxter Mountain Bike relay was held out at McLean’s Island. The CSKI team, comprised of 25 riders, was for many of our young people the first time they had ever entered a bike race. There were options to race in paired teams or to race as individuals and this year there was a definite increase in the solo rider category.

CSKI students have a proud legacy in this event. Once again we delivered some amazing results. Over a 3 hour period, our riders had to race around a mix of single track and 4WD gravel while zipping through a pack consisting of 482 riders.

In the girls teams events, Frankie and Miko claimed 7th place. Grace and Hannah came 4th place.

In the boys team events, Jackanory and Ethan came 10th. Ethan and Lucas came 9th. Felix and Jonty came 6th. Max and Nikolai came 4th.

In the boys solo race, Liam came 7th, Ethan came 3rd and Lucas won the category. It was a gritty fight right to the end that saw him pass the leading rider on the last lap of the race to secure victory by a slender 7 second margin.

A huge thank needs to go out to the parents of these children who came out to support them in this race so positively in demanding dry and windy conditions. It was an incredible day out and we have much to look forward to from our talented students in the 2023 edition!
