Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate School is extremely well resourced to assist our students embrace the challenges of being a 21st century learner.
 
Our outstanding facilities include 16 new classrooms that exceed the Ministry of Education’s expectations for modern 21st century learning environments. They are very well resourced to meet modern learning needs with interactive televisions, high levels of access to netbook computers and wireless access to the school network and internet. The furniture enhances collaborative and individual learning and supports varied learning preferences and styles. 
 
The school’s specialist facilities are equally well resourced and equipped to support strong programmes specifically designed to meet the needs of early adolescent students and the exciting challenges of the Years 7 and 8 curriculum. 
 

ICT is a strength of the school. There are regularly over 500 devices connected to our network. The majority of students bring their own devices from home. There are 10 netbooks per homeroom to further support learning and specialist spaces are equipped with the relevant digital equipment to support learning. 

We have specialist rooms for Art, Performing Arts, Food Technology, Science and two spaces to support Product Design Technology. 

Our library is stocked with over 10,000 books specifically targeted for year 7 & 8 students. 

Sports are well catered for with facilities that include 3 outdoor Basketball courts, 3 Netball courts, 2 Tennis courts, an artificial Cricket pitch, an indoor Volleyball court, 6 Table Tennis tables as well as Soccer, Hockey and Rugby fields.
