We took two teams to Hornby High School to compete in the CAIMS Winter Tournament. Day 1 brought some mixed results in Pool Play with three games played by both teams. Our A Team lost two games and won one. Our B Team lost all three games and were bitterly disappointed. They say that you learn more from your losses than your wins and that was how it panned out, as the learnings of Day 1 were definitely on show the following day. On Day 2, the A Team achieved two wins and a loss whilst the B Team achieved their first win and only just lost in their final two games by 5 points and 1 point respectively. It was amazing to see how much progress was made from the beginning of the tournament to the end of the tournament with students teaming up to create some very impressive rallies. I was incredibly proud of the way they showed tenacity and support for each other. Many of the players were complete novices to the sport of Volleyball and are now really keen to be involved in more tournaments. That is a fantastic outcome!
