In week 7 of Term 3 we had 3 of our ākonga head up to Tauranga to represent Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate in Rock climbing at AIMS games which is the premier sporting competition for young sportspeople across Aotearoa. We had Charlotte, Alex & Manaia who competed in a field of over 160 climbers. On the first day they had 10 climbs to compete, 7 on the following 2 days and the finals consisted of 5 climbs. All 3 ākonga made the semi finals in their grade which is a fantastic achievement. Charlotte placed 8th overall, Alex 15th and Manaia was able to make the finals and place 2nd! Ka mau te wehi Wananei! Many thanks to the whānau who made the trip up to support our awesome tamariki.
