Accommodation (International Students)

Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate School is happy to arrange homestay families for students over the age over ten years.

Under Outcome 6 of Clause 24 of the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016 (the Code), international students under 10 years old must live with a parent or legal guardian while studying in New Zealand.

Students can also live with a designated caregiver of the parents choosing if it is a close family friend or relative.

All homestay and caregiver placements are required to be police vetted and accomodation interviews will be required.

All accommodation providers are subject to approval from the International Coordinator at Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate School.

More information about homestay placements can be found on our fee schedule and enrolment contract.
