Shave for a Cure

Christchurch South Intermediate has decided to participate in Shave for a Cure because one of our school values is 'Embracing Challenge!'  We also think its important to show empathy and be kind. Six kiwis are diagnosed with Leukemia every day, and we just want to support them and their families.

Emma, our Multi Media support staff member has been the initial driver behind this campaign and the Social Awareness student leadership team have got right in behind her.

Two staff members are officially linked to the Shave for a Cure fundraising campaign:
Emma Small will share her hair off
Jesse Callaghan will shave his beard off.

Both of these staff members can be directly supported through the Christchurch South Intermediate donations page on the Shave for a Cure website - click here

In addition Ngata Team teacher James Sagar will add to the atmosphere at school on the shave day by allowing the highest bidder to braid his beard!

Thanks to all of the students and teachers who helped out with this project, especially the Social Awareness team and Mrs Lipscombe.

“There are more important things than having a good hair day” - Emma

Shave date: Tuesday 21 March
Event Location: Christchurch South's school hall
