Christchurch South Intermediate held its annual Speech Competition on Tuesday, 19th of September. A top Year 7 and top Year 8 were selected to represent their Pod in the speech final. Each speech was around three minutes long and had to include the phrase ‘The Time is Now’.  Topics included body image, homelessness, racism, bullying, equal rights for all and eating insects to help save the environment! The competition was tough!

Our winners were:
Year 7 - Madeline from Hillary with a thought provoking speech about eating insects.
Year 8 - Billie from Sheppard with a powerful message about body image and accepting yourself as being perfect the way you are.

A massive congratulations to our other finalists:
Year 7 - Lottie (Ngata), Isabella (Sheppard), Clara (Rutherford).
Year 8 - Nadia (Hillary), Archie (Ngata), Summer (Rutherford).
