Tēnei te mihi aroha ki a koutou katoa e tautoko ana ki ō mātou Haka Off 2022!
A massive thank you to everyone who supported our annual Haka Off competition!

Usually an event held in Term 1, we were able to hold our annual haka competition on Tuesday 20th September. The four pods have been learning the school haka over the term and the Haka Off decides which pod are the overall winner. Every year the standard that our ākonga and kaiako set just gets higher and higher! This year was no exception. At 1.30pm the whole school congregated on the basketball court and battled it out to be the ultimate haka champions. It was great to see so many whānau come along and tautoko this event. The students thoroughly appreciated having an audience that was so supportive and excited about the event - this really added to the atmosphere.

Each pod proudly demonstrated the mahi they have been putting into learning the haka over the last few weeks. Their passion was evident and they should all be incredibly proud of themselves. Kei runga noa atu koutou!

The judges (Bobbie and Joshua) had a tough choice to name a winner and the competition was very close! Ultimately, Hillary Pod was named the champions for 2022 - their debut as Haka Off winners!

Tēnei te mihi anō ki a koutou - it was a great competition!
