A sod-turning ceremony marks the start of a new building project. On Wednesday 16th March, we celebrated our own sod-turning ceremony as a part of the rebuilding of specific areas of our kura. Members from the building team and the Ministry gathered with kaiako, Board members and ākonga from our Māori Leadership Team to break ground and mark the end of the demolition and the start of the build.
Tēnei te mihi aroha ki a Matua Steve Reid - a huge thank you to Matua Steve Reid, our kapa haka tutor, who blessed the sod-turning with a karakia.
Tēnei te mihi ki ngā tamariki - thank you to the students from the Māori Leadership Team who supported Matua Steve and our kura. This was your first bit of mahi in your new role as Māori Leads and you were awesome! Kei runga noa atu koutou! A big mihi to your whānau as well who helped to ensure that you were able to get to school a little earlier for this event.
Ko te mihi tuatoru - ki ngā kaiako mā. Thank you to the kaiako and Board of Trustees members who attended on behalf of their pod of colleagues to represent our staff for this ceremony.
Mā pango, mā whero, ka oti te mahi!
