As you may already be aware, our school is finally in a position to start some significant building work as part of the Ministry of Education's Canterbury Schools' Rebuild programme. One of our technology blocks, which has been long overdue for modernisation, will be demolished and rebuilt along with our library and administration block, which have both been identified as leaky buildings.
From the 17th of December, the contractor for these works, Citycare Limited, will take responsibility for oversight of the parts of the school site being redeveloped. They have a role, in conjunction with the school, to manage health and safety. The map attached shows the construction zone and preferred access points for students and pedestrians to the school site during the build. Please note the request regarding parking for drop offs and pick ups directly outside the school on Selwyn Street.
You will see the location of our temporary Administration Hub attached to the west side of our school hall. We ask that all visitors enter the school through this building and sign in at the office. Prior to the start of the new school year signage will be in place to support ease of access to the school site.
We are very excited about this project finally being close to getting underway and are confident that we have effective plans in place to ensure that all our programmes will be able to continue throughout the build programme.
