Working Bee

The keen gardeners in our school community turned up in force on a hot Sunday to work in our produce garden. They weeded, pruned, painted, planted, spread mulch, watered and swept. Working together was a delight and the results are just so impressive. Huge thanks to Debbie and Mark Callaghan for providing such a welcome and tasty lunch. Many thanks to all those who worked so enthusiastically, offering so much more than your physical labour, but also suggestions and contacts. We are now collecting the wool insulating liners from home delivered meal kits, such as My Food Bag. These will be used to line our seed growing boxes and as mulch on the garden beds. Families are always welcome to join us on Fridays after school when the Garden Club meet. We will have further working bees during the year when tasks such as pruning and compost spreading need to be done.
