On Thursday, 10 South Korfballers journeyed to Sacred Heart school to participate in a friendly game of Korfball to strengthen the relationship with our Kahukura Cluster neighbours and spread the word of Korfball. This also served as a warm-up game for our upcoming Tournament.
Our students, some who were playing Korfball for the first time, displayed excellent skills, teamwork and tenacity, concluding with a convincing win (14-1) despite some controversial umpiring decision from coach turn umpire, Mr Angus (the only person who had a whistle handy). The support and environment that Sacred Heart provided was spine tingling and absolutely incredible. As the old cliche goes, at the end of the day, Korfball and Cluster Collaboration was the winner.
Hopefully, this is the beginning of a friendly, yet competitive, Kahukura Cluster rivalry. Next up on our agenda, the Term 1 Korfball Tournament on the 1st of April where we will attempt to defend out the title.
