On the 26th, 27th, and 28th of November, 140 students performed 'The Dracula Rock show, a play written by Malcolm Sircom, and adapted by Miss Revell along with a team of student scriptwriters. The performers were supported by a team of 25 students (backstage, front of house, make-up and tech) and almost the entire staff of Christchurch South Intermediate School. There were two matinees performed on the 26th and 27th, with a total of about 400 people. There were also three night performances, which had approximately 400 members in the audience each night.

With a great storyline and humorous characters, the show was a hit with the audiences. After 17 weeks of auditions and rehearsals the show was rolling, and by the Thursday night the audience was clapping, singing and cheering along. Thank you to our community for all your support!

Overall, the production was a huge success and we’d like to thank everyone involved - especially the teachers that helped organise it, the backstage crew and the lighting and tech crew. Miss Revell would like to thank the enormous talent we have here at South. She was really impressed by how each actor developed their character and supported each other on and off stage. The Chorus were amazing, singing their hearts out time and time again. And the dancers brought huge amounts of talent and energy to the stage. It was wonderful to see friendships being formed and lifetime memories being made.
