Kahukura Chorale on their first ever, two-day bus tour

Kahukura Chorale's Bus Tour

Congratulations to the students, parents and teachers involved in Kahukura Chorale's two-day bus tour of the cluster schools and Bishop Selwyn Rest Home. Eight performances in two days might sound ambitious, but everyone rose to the challenge and sang and supported each other brilliantly. It was a wonderful, fitting end to a year of hard work. The students sang their hearts out - what a talented bunch!

Highlights included getting over our nerves performing to the whole school at CSIS, the fantastic acoustics at West Spreydon and Sacred Heart Primary Schools, and the high-energy audience at Thorrington. We also loved teaching 'Crash Beep Beep' to students at Cashmere, Somerfield and Addington Primary Schools (great singing from the audience!), and being asked to sing an encore at Bishop Selwyn Rest Home. It was fantastic having a bit of down time at different schools' adventure playgrounds, and great to get to know each other even better.

Kahukura Chorale will look a little different next year, with Miss Divett and Ms Radcliffe-Price as conductors, but it's likely to still take place on Thursdays after school. Existing members automatically have a spot in Chorale in 2020. Register your interest by contacting Miss Revell by email before the end of the year, or at the start of 2020 by listening to the daily notices.
