Whilst a group of our students competed at Ngā Puna Wai for Championship Day, South held its own Challenge Day. This was a new event this year that provided traditional Athletics activities alongside some unique, physical events; such as Catching the Train, Gumboot Toss, and Target Throw.

The day was completed with a medley of relay races. After each pod's top four runners competed against each and the teachers, it was time for the Ultimate Relay! A race that required EVERY student to run for their pod in an attempt to achieve the most amount of laps within a time limit.

Kia mau te wero! The students took up the challenge of the day by giving it their best, pushing themselves to achieve the challenge mark at each event, and represented their Pod with pride. Ka mau te wehi!
