On Wednesday 11th September, Christchurch South’s Pasifika Performance Group performed at Horncastle Arena as part of 2019’s Cultural Festival.
Christchurch South was the last of nine schools to perform on the evening, and blew the audience away with their energy and talent.
The group began their performance with a very elegant and graceful Samoan Siva, followed by an upbeat and energetic Sasa. Students then sung a beautiful waiata, E Minaka Ana, and then finished the evening with a very powerful and strong performance of South’s haka.
Students have displayed an incredible amount of dedication over the past two terms, and should be proud of the efforts they have put in. A special mention goes to the group’s tutor Nesa, and also Jared from West Spreydon who accompanied the students on guitar for E Minaka Ana.
